Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile supporters when she makes her professional golf debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

The former president, an avid golfer, operates several courses worldwide and regularly matches against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she revealed.

Kai explained that Trump, who won't be present, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"He basically suggested to go out there and relax," she added.

"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."

As an amateur, Kai has competed in only three events recently and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

But she can receive tips from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Vanessa.

"He represents the top athlete worldwide," Kai expressed.

"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He told me to compete, relax, adapting to whatever happens."

The golfer will compete against multiple the biggest names in women's golf at the Annika, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

Tournament organizers commented that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to new audiences, particularly reaching younger fans.

The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness company.

The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
