Netflix Chooses Perfect Performer for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3
Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed this week that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Mr. 2. Bon Clay possesses the power to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, as in the initial comic and animated series.
Escola will work alongside a number of new cast members set to bring the group to life, such as chief the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the monarch of Alabasta.
Although the role is a important part of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest additional alterations to the plot development.
Their mix of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the character. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
