The families of young people lost after a devastating inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an excruciating wait for answers and pleading for information about their family members publicly.

The blaze engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Verified images show the ceiling igniting as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Officials have warned that it could take an extended period to identify the victims of the fire, which killed 40 people and wounded another over a hundred. A spokesperson said on Friday that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with the process still underway to name the remaining few.

In the waiting period, loved ones have been posting on the internet to request any news about their missing relatives who were at the bar that night.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The fate of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an public plea from his parent.
