Homages Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues continue to honor the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he only now felt able to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started passing more hours together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the protagonist.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive put a security hold on the investigation to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of murder, with a official listing noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

Following the deaths, public individuals offered varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the critics recently. Speaking on his show, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disappointing" and implied they revealed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an associate should have stepped in when the decision to weigh in on the passing was made.
