Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
